Reflections of 2024

Writer's picture: Stacy Lewis BroganStacy Lewis Brogan

Around this time last year I was having dinner with a friend and out of what seemed like no where she says, “You had such a productive year! You got married, did your life coach certification, and got a brand new day job!”

I remember feeling so shocked (and kind of impressed) because prior to that, I really had thought nothing much had happened that year.

Fast forward to this end of 2024 and I honestly felt the exact same way - what the f*ck did I even do this year?

And yet, after some reflection, I realized that I’ve done a lot. I’ve maintained this much more demanding day job, I’ve committed to building this life coaching business, I’m learning Spanish and have achieved an A2 level (thank you Duolingo), and I’ve traveled almost every other month including to Ibiza which was a 20 year dream of mine.

I write this all down because as I continue to do this yearly reflection practice, I think we all could benefit from doing an inventory of what we’ve done this past year;

Did you travel somewhere new?

Did you start or leave a job?

Did you meet new people who have enriched your life since?

Did something really shitty happen, but you know you’re either stronger because of it or will be soon?

If you’ve read my other posts, especially “How Did I End Up Here?”, you know one of my big motivators in life is never to feel stagnant. And I know we can all feel that way when our day-to-day life feels like an syndicated TV show on repeat.

But I encourage you to sit down and really take a look at what happened this past year. I think you will impress yourself with how much you’ve actually been through and grown.

As always, I would love to hear what you come up with! Feel free to respond in the comments below or if you’d like it to remain private, please email me at stacylbrogan@gmail.com
